Volvo V90 revealed undisguised in leaked pictures

Updated: 06 January 2016

► Leaked pictures of new Volvo V90
► The big estate completely undisguised
► Sister car to the new S90 saloon

We’ve already seen the new Volvo V90 as a heavily disguised prototype and as a 1:43 scale model; now here’s the real thing. Swedish magazine Teknikens Varld has published leaked images of the all-new Volvo estate completely undisguised.

No big surprises here; the frontal styling is virtually identical to the V90’s recently revealed S90 saloon sister car, and the rear is dominated by enormous sloping tail-lights, as previewed by the scale model – itself revealed as a series of leaked photographs in 2015.

Like the S90, the new V90 shares its modular underpinnings and much of its engine range with the current Volvo XC90, including plug-in hybrid variants. Click here for the full story on the Volvo S90, and you can read a deeper analysis in CAR+ here.

It’ll be interesting to see how that easy-on-the-eye raked rear screen impacts on boot volume. Style and space? Let’s hope so. We’ll find out when the Volvo V90 estate makes its official debut, which is expected to be at the 2016 Geneva motor show in February.
