We’ve already scooped the new 2012 Volkswagen Golf a couple of times, but now our man with the long lens has snapped a spy video of the Golf Mk7.
Watch the new five-door hatch on test in Europe in our video above. It’s our first look at the new Golf moving, ahead of its planned debut at the 2012 Paris motor show in September. The new Golf goes on sale in spring 2013 in the UK.
The new Golf Mk7 is notable for its introduction of the Volkswagen group’s new MQB architecture. That’s the new box of oily bits that is claimed to transform the technology – and economics – of the group’s new mid-sized cars.
How so? Because it will cost around a fifth less for Volkswagen to build, and because MQB will introduce the very latest technology to VW Golfs, Seat Leons, Skoda Octavias and Audi A3s.
