You’re looking at the new Mini convertible, snapped here by our spy photographers in ICE form. Although the new car features a significant amount of camouflage, we can look recently revealed Mini Cooper Electric to fill in the gaps: we’re not expecting Mini designers to change much between the electric and ICE models styling-wise.

What’s different?

When it’s revealed in 2024 or 2025, the convertible shown here may well be one of the last Minis to be offered in a combustion engine variant. And this is very much a ICE-powered car; the centrally mounted exhaust exit at the back suggests a hotter variant than standard. Look closer and you’ll also see bigger brakes with red calipers, which again suggest this could be a hotter model – and possibly a JCW-spec chassis.

Will there be an electric model?

Almost certainly. The convertible remains one of the brand’s best-selling models across Europe and North America, so it’ll likely be offered in electric form.
