► All-new Kia Picanto spotted
► Due to launch in late 2017
► Will rival Up, Twingo, i10, Viva
This blanket-bound mystery hatchback is the all-new Kia Picanto, due to replace the current city car model in late 2017.
Twinned with Hyundai’s i10, the current Picanto’s been around since 2011, with a facelift in 2013 and another minor spruce-up earlier in 2015.
What’s under the covers?
Hopefully a bigger boot than the current one. Up front, there’s a glimpse of wide-eyed headlights, with some oh-so-modern LED styling garnish at work within. The partially visible tail-lights appear to be packing LEDs too.
The car pictured has a five-door bodyshell; there’s no official word yet on whether a three-door version will also be offered. A current hatchback trend is for manufacturers to cut production costs by offering a five-door body only, although the current Picanto is offered with a choice of three or five doors.
Stay tuned for more information on the new Kia Picanto soon.
