Kia is developing its new Sportage ahead of launch in 2010. The Sportage is Kia’s smaller SUV, slotting in beneath the seven-seat new Sorento.
Our spies caught the new Sportage on test near Hyundai Kia’s European headquarters.
Strip away the camouflage and you’ll see the updated styling, expected to be of a more European flavour in line with other recent Kias such as the Soul, Ceed and Sorento. Look out for the new purring lion inspired grille, for instance.
Under the bodywork lies the group’s compact SUV 4×4 hardware. For clues, look at the Hyundai iX35, the sister company’s Tucson replacement.
