Jaguar is readying its new XJ limo for launch later in 2009 – and we’re expecting big changes for this most conservative of saloons. Like the jump from S-type to XF, the new XJ is likely to dump its pipe ‘n’ slippers image for a much more contemporary style.
Although still heavily disguised, we’ve caught the new 2010 Jag XJ in our latest CAR spy video. See it in action in our embedded player at the foot of the page.
Is it enough to turn the XJ into a credible challenger to the Audi A8, BMW 7-series and Mercedes S-class? It certainly looks more modern under the cladding – and we’ve never quibbled with the aluminium tech and driving experience of Jag’s limo. Let’s hope styling boss Ian Callum has convinced the company’s new Indian owners to be bold and open up a new chapter in Jaguar design.
