Jaguar is nearly ready to showcase the newly facelifted 2011 XF executive car. Our new spy photos reveal the new, shapely headlamps modelled on the svelte lenses on the snout of the XJ.
That spells the end of the dumpy front end which has never quite lived up to the promise of the original C-XF concept car.
What’s new on the 2011 Jaguar XF facelift?
Apart from a few cosmetic flourishes such as the tidied-up front end and a subtle boot spoiler, Jaguar has concentrated on the engines and interior.
We haven’t seen the cabin of the new 2012 model year XF yet, but we hear there are numerous detail improvements inside.
And the new engines?
That’ll be headlined by the new 2.2-litre turbodiesel that we scooped last year. It finally moves Jaguar into the heartland of the executive sector; today the smallest diesel engine is 3.0 litres.
Expect to see the facelifted Jaguar XF in spring 2011. It should be on sale by the summer.
