► New DS 8 on the way
► Coming towards the end of the year
► Will sit on the top of the DS EV range
In 2024 every brand needs a huge, electric flagship SUV and this is DS’. Called the DS 8, it’s just been snapped winter testing by our intrepid spy photographers – but we should see it in full later this year. When released it’ll be targeting the best luxury electric cars, and SUVs for that matter.
What do we know?
Not much. It’s likely to be called the new DS 8 Crossback, and as you’d expect it features the usual mix of ‘dynamic’ and ‘huge SUV,’ which means it has a sloping roof along with some relatively aggressive styling. The car pictured is heavily covered in camo, but it’s still possible to see the resemblance the prototype has with the DS Aero Sport Lounge concept shown in February 2020.
With that in mind, you’ll find a combination of slim headlights with vertical LED stripes – just as we’ve seen with other models in the DS range.
What about power?
The DS 8 should come in two versions; one with a single motor with around 200bhp, and another dual-motor setup that pushes out around 300bhp.
DS’ new flagship should make an appearance towards the end of the year.
