Bentley will soon launch a high-performance Speed version of its Continental GTC convertible. We saw this prototype lapping the Nurburgring late yesterday afternoon – and it looks suspiciously ready for showroom sales judging by our spy photos.
CAR expects the GTC Speed to follow the same recipe as the other Speed versions: a 6.0-litre V12 upgraded to 600bhp, revised radiator and air intakes, new exhaust pipes and unique 20in multi-spoke alloys.
So how fast is the Bentley Continental GTC Speed?
That 50bhp upgrade should be enough for the top-dog GTC to hit 60mph in around 4.5sec and 200mph, according to our sources. Not bad for a four-seater convertible.
The coupe and Flying Spur saloon versions of the Continental both have Speed versions, costing around £17,000 over the base models. This points to a price of around £149,000 for the GTC Speed, when it’s launched in 2009.
