► Charging with the Peugeot
► A typical weekend away

I don’t know what I was expecting (a glowing reactor core?) but pop the bonnet to top up the washer fluid and the scene that greets you is reassuringly normal. Hell, some of the orange high-voltage cable routing even resembles exhaust headers.
Washer fluid topped up, a weekend away revealed the usefulness of chargers on lamp posts. With three available on a quaint High Street, I was able to get on one of them – combustion cars blocked access to the other two. The posts are close to the kerb, so your cable doesn’t become a trip hazard, and the steady overnight charge from char.gy (£20.18 for 43.85 kWh) was more affordable and convenient than an Ionity splash-and-dash on the way home.
