We’d like more warnings from our Mazda CX-60

Unlike most rational humans, car photographers will often sit in a boot, shooting the following car. The CX-60’s boot is good for this rather niche pursuit: roomy and comfortable, and the warning noise telling you the boot’s open isn’t painfully loud. However, what’s good news for boot-dwellers is less helpful for drivers.

On one occasion, after loading the boot with camera kit, I pressed the close button and went to the driver’s seat. The hatch had stopped part-open, because the sensor spotted a problem. The quiet warning noise was easily ignored, and I pulled away before realising the hatch hadn’t finished closing, and some of my equipment was making its way out of the car.
