► Living with a BYD Seal electric car
► Over-the-air updates
► Read month 1 here
In the space of a month or so, my Seal has had two separate over-the-air updates beamed down from the heavens. The first was to tweak the cross-traffic safety alert – buyers had moaned about it being over-zealous, and I could attest to that – and it’s mostly calmed down. Mostly.
The second introduced some handy quick-access buttons on the home screen. As it gets colder, the heated seat button that’s now part of the main screen instead of at least three taps away is very welcome.
It’s a move in keeping with the easy-to-live-with nature of the Seal. It’s smooth and fast to drive, cool and calm inside, and I get 300-plus miles per charge.
