Annoyingly our Audi SQ8 has a few gremlins. Initially the MyAudi app thought the front passenger window was open. It was a one-off – unlike the charging-port pantomime.
The SQ8 has a port on each front wing (one with CCS fast-charging capability), covered by powered flaps that open balletically at the prod of a button. It’s nice, and frequently vital, to have choice, because ‘charging system locking error’ faults are frequently signalled by a red LED.
So I trundle round to the other port to see if this will play ball. Applying pressure to jam cable into socket while car and charger connect seems to help.
This isn’t my only connectivity issue: half the time, the infotainment refuses to wirelessly connect my iPhone. Sigh…
