McLaren F1 driver Lewis Hamilton and NASCAR driver Tony Stewart recently got the chance to drive each other’s cars at the famous US racetrack Watkins Glen.
‘I was really surprised by the handling – it handles really well,’ said Hamilton after his stint in the no.1 Chevrolet Impala. ‘It felt like I had quite a stable rear end. I was able to pick up the power, and the grip was quite good through all the corners. I just feel like a kid today.’
And Stewart? ‘It’s easy to see why it’s so hard for these guys to overtake,’ commented the 39-times NASCAR race winner and current Stewart-Hass team owner, ‘because it’s not a long distance from the time you get off the throttle and on the brakes to where you’re changing direction.’
