Ford GT: a quick video review from behind the wheel

► …and gets behind the wheel

If you want more Ford GT action, you’ve come to the right place.

Ben Barry grabbed a camera and went for a spin in the new Ford supercar – this quick little video shows you just how raw the Ford GT is behind the wheel. It’s a real race car for the road, as its Le Mans racing DNA shines through.

There’s a clever suspension system that uses a torsion bar and coil springs, which allows the car to drop its ride height instantly at the flick of a switch, and the deployable rear wing pushes the aero-led supercar down with great effect.

The 3.5-litre Ecoboost V6 develops 647bhp – good enough to push the GT from 0-62mph in 2.8 seconds and to a top speed of 216mph.

It’s definitely hardcore, which might mean it’s a little rough-and-ready for some, but will all be part of the appeal for others.
