Volkswagen’s Golf GTI has mushroomed into a six-strong range, bookended by Nürburgring Norschleife lap record-holder the Clubsport S and the low CO2, high performance GTE hybrid.
We took both – plus the all-wheel-drive R, regular GTI, GTD diesel and 261bhp Clubsport – to Anglesey circuit, to find out which is quickest and which is the most fun.
