As part of the launch of the new Jaguar i-Pace electric car, Jag broadcast a film at its world debut in London showing its new EV taking on the big daddy of the e-scene, a Tesla.
You can watch the official film above. Yes, it’s biased. Yes, it was filmed by Jaguar, so we should take the results with a pinch of salt. But yes, it makes for fascinating watching.
Pitting electric crossovers against each other on track, Jaguar set its new i-Pace versus two Model X versions. First up is a lower-rung 75D and when the Jag beats that car, it rolls out the faster 100D (though not a P model, tellingly).
We’ll let you watch the results for yourselves. It’s certainly a good demonstration of just how fast electric cars can be: the i-Pace has a claimed 0-60mph time of just 4.5sec.
