Five in a row makes ’em go, and this S1 replica certainly goes – thanks in part, unquestionably, to a hefty dose of boost. And just listen to that noise!
Jozef Béres Jr., the Slovakian rally driver behind the wheel, starts out fairly gently in the S1. After a few corners, however, he begin to really stretch the legs – or, at least, swing them sideways – of the big nose-heavy Audi.
Initial chronic understeer suddenly switches into slick, polished ballets of oversteer as the handbrake swings, the throttle pedal drops to the floor and the boost peaks. How gratifying is that sprint to the finishing line, too? If the limiter was just another few hundred RPM higher…
