► Queen Elizabeth’s Jaguar X-Type
► Up for auction on 26 November 2022
► Petrol 3.0 V6, auto, sunroof, FRSH
Who’d have thought that the X-Type, one of the least loved of modern Jaguars, would gain the royal seal of approval? It turns out the late Queen Elizabeth was a big fan of her 2009 Jag X-Type Estate – and here is your chance to buy it.
The 73,000-mile wagon with a royal connection is up for auction at the Historics sale at Weybridge in Surrey on 26 November 2022. Although there is no reserve set, its blue-blooded ancestry is bound to cause a stir and it’s likely to fetch several times its market value.
Our sister website Parkers.co.uk, the UK’s most trusted used-car valuation service, reckons a stock Jaguar X-Type Estate 3.0 in this condition would fetch as much as £5000-7000 in tip-top condition from a dealer, or £4k privately.
The Queen’s Jaguar X-Type: the background
This emerald green X was registered on 29 April 2009 and its first keeper was HM Queen Elizabeth II. Its logbook confirms its number plate was PYN 1F, the reg visible in many pictures of the car in royal service over the years.
Standard kit includes an original equipment sunroof, automatic transmission, electric windows and climate control. It has a full service history and a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate among its expansive bundle of paperwork – and we’re pleased to note it was the punchier V6 engine for effortless performance.
The late Queen was last seen being driven in this X-Type as recently as March 2022. For more sales of the Historics auction, click here.
