► Porsche 911 from The Bridge
► Sold for £125,000 at Goodwood
► Saga Norén’s iconic green 911!
An olive green slice of Scandi-noir TV history sold for £125,000 at auction: the achingly cool 1977 Porsche 911 S from hit series The Bridge was auctioned off at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed Bonhams auction.
The retro-coloured coupe is driven in the television show by oddball detective Saga Norén, played by Sofia Helin, and has arguably become one of the best-known cars on the small screen. But now that the series is coming to an end, the famous 911 was auctioned off for charity.

What do we know about the Porsche 911 from The Bridge?
Chassis number 9117201496 is a stock 911 S painted in a distinctive Jager Grun olive green – a very fitting, retro 1970s hue.
This left-hand drive, manual model was originally sold in the US market, but was imported to Sweden in 2009. In 2012 the production company behind The Bridge, Filmlance International, bought it in preparation for filming.
The car has played a central part in the show ever since the first series. It adds to the gritty, enigmatic character of Norén, who suffers from Asperger’s syndrome but has an excellent taste in cars.
The Swedish-registered 911 S Coupe was sold at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed sale by Bonhams and all proceeds raised went to WaterAid, the charity that works with organisations around the world to provide clean water and sanitation.
It’s made a decent profit; producers bought the run-down 911 off a passer-by for just £7000. If only old Porsches could still be bought for buttons…
