PlayStation has announced that a free variant of Gran Turismo 7 is on the way, labelled My First Gran Turismo. It will be a free trail version of the popular racing game by Polyphony Digital with no upfront charges.
It will be called My First Gran Turismo – or My First GT – and will be a dialled-back version of GT7 that aims to attract new players of varying diversity and skill levels. It will be available to all PS4 and PS5 console players.
My First GT will contain some of the ‘favourite’ tracks, cars, and race events that according to PlayStation, will ‘evoke the nostalgia and excitement’ of the very first experience of the Gran Turismo series. Needless to say, we’re looking forward to seeing what lies within that statement.
Details of My First GT become total speculation after that, and the extent to which GT7 will be scaled-down is currently unknown outside of the development offices.
What we do know, however, is that My First GT will land ‘this holiday’ according to PlayStation. Given that the firm’s 30th anniversary is a few months away on 3rd December, we can reasonably expect the game to be available by Christmas time.
Fancy the full version? It may not be free, but it’s still one of the most comprehensive and graphically detailed racing games out there.
