Why you should lease an Audi TT for £219pm: CAR+ March 2016

Updated: 19 February 2016

► Lease a Audi TT coupe 1.8 TFSI from £219pm
► Part of CAR’s guide to 2016’s top leasing deals
► Eager 1.8-litre four-pot is good for sub-7sec 0-62mph

Always a style icon, now a satisfying steer – the TT has finally come of age. And while it might not get under your skin in the manner of some more focused sports cars, not only is the high-tech interior a finely executed paragon of modern minimalist automotive design, super healthy residual values mean you can find some excellent leasing deals.

Punchy though the 181bhp diesel is, we still prefer the TFSI turbo petrols, and given the Mk3’s MQB platform these too can be economical if you’re saintly. The regular 2.0’s 227bhp means 0-62mph in 6.0sec or less (5.3 with Quattro), while the 306bhp TTS can do it in 4.6. But there’s no shame in the sweetly eager 1.8 if value’s your priority. S line spec available with standard suspension if you want the look but not the backache; entry Sport still packs 18s, DAB and the fancy Audi Virtual Cockpit digital gauge cluster.
