CAR has exclusively ridden in the Nissan GT-R Nismo as it attacks the Nurburgring. Gavin Green strapped himself in alongside ex-Toro Rosso F1 and current Red Bull test driver Sebastien Buemi. Nissan GT-Rs have become synonymous with Nurburgring lap times ever since the R33 became the first production car to lap the ‘Green Hell’ in less than eight minutes. The 2013 Nismo version is no exception: the 592bhp bespoilered flagship aims at the heart of the hybrid supercar battle, offering almost seven-minute laptime performance for around a quarter the cost of a Porsche 918, LaFerrari or McLaren P1.
