► First production Ford Focus RS colour revealed
► ‘Nitrous Blue’ a brighter shade than the show car
► Will be on show at the 2015 New York motor show
When we chatted with Ken Block (clang) at the reveal of the new Ford Focus RS in Cologne in February, he told us he reckoned the show car’s Liquid Blue paintwork was just a little bit gloomy, but that we could expect a brighter finish for the production car. Here it is: Nitrous Blue.
It’s the colour Ford will show off the new superhatch in at the 2015 New York motor show in April, and one of four colour choices for the production car. (Shadow Black, Magnetic Grey and Frozen White are the other three.)
The more muted Liquid Blue finish on the original car shown at the reveal and the Geneva motor show is Ford’s current go-to colour for its show cars, the same shade chosen for the likes of the new Ford GT supercar and the Shelby Mustang GT350R.
When is the new Ford Focus RS coming to the UK?
Early 2016 is when European customer deliveries start. Official pricing and specs are yet to be revealed, but expect the former to chime in above the £30k mark and power to spiral north of 330bhp.
