► Lexus NX facelift for 2017

The Lexus NX has been a winning formula for the Japanese manufacturer – accounting for a large proportion of European sales and attracting new customers to the brand.
Keeping it fresh for 2017 is a business-as-usual external tidy up and a smattering of new tech both in and out of the cabin. It’s not a huge step change, but based on the car’s success, it doesn’t really need to be.

So what’s new?
In short, you’re looking at a new grille and front bumper design, with different alloy wheel options plus LED head and tail lights.
Inside there are new colour combinations, more ergonomic switches, and a larger multimedia screen. You can also now get the Lexus Safety System + suite of driver assistance tech.
We haven’t seen the full UK specification yet, so nothing is set in stone, but at least some of these improvements making their European debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motorshow should make it to our shores.
What’s the interior like?
In short, everything has been embiggened:
The Premium Navigation screen is up from 7.0 to 10.3 inches and the central analogue clock has been enlarged too, as has the wireless charging tray in order to take larger smartphones.
You now get a touchpad controller for the multimedia system with a better shaped palm rest and the climate control buttons have been amalgamated into four toggles.
Any cool gadgets?
A hands-free powered boot door for a (literal) kick-off, opened and closed by waving your foot underneath the rear bumper.
Plus there’s the Lexus Safety System Plus driver assistance pack. This gets you pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, adaptive high-beams, lane departure alert and road sign assist.
