Automobili Lamborghini has confirmed a limited production run of open-top Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce Roadsters. The announcement was made at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Just 500 SV convertibles will be built, following on from the 600 SV coupes which have already sold out at the company’s 130 dealerships worldwide.
Lambo Aventador SV Roadster: the lowdown
The maximum-velocity V12 follows the company’s well proven formula for go-faster thrills: the coupe sports an extra 50 horsepower and 50 fewer kilogrammes. The coupe LP750-4 Superveloce was unveiled at the 2015 Geneva motor show.
While no outright performance figures have been claimed yet for the soft-top, the coupe rips to 62mph in just 2.8sec and has a top speed of 217mph.
Lamborghini president and CEO Stephan Winkelmann said: ‘The Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce is the most pure, sports-oriented and emotional incarnation of a Lamborghini, and all 600 units have been sold, with first deliveries starting now. We will also produce a roadster version, which our dealers worldwide are now taking orders for.’
