CAR has a rather special eco treat to offer to one lucky reader – a chance to ride in Honda’s FCX Clarity. Not heard of the FCX Clarity? Well you should have because it’s the world’s first serious hydrogen-powered car (only water is emitted from the exhaust) and a few lucky Californians and Japanese currently get to lease one as part of Honda’s research, even though they’re worth about £1m each.
Anyway, the prize. Next Friday 17 September one of the few Honda FCX Clarity vehicles in the world is in the UK, and we’re offering you the chance to ride in it. You’ll have to make your own way to and from Richmond to The Petersham Hotel where the event is taking place (preferably in the cleanest and greenest way possible). Once there you’ll have a 30 minute ride in the car, lunch, and a presentation on the car and just how the compressed hydrogen is converted into electricity. And then there’s overnight accomodation for you and one other at The Marriott Hotel in Twickenham.
