► ‘Ring-inspired updates
Volvo’s performance arm Polestar will be developing 2018 S60s and V60s with additional Aerodynamic packages.
These packages, which will consist of several carbon fibre components, are claimed to increase downforce by 30% on both models.

A limited run of 1500 cars will be built in this upgraded spec, which will include a front splitter, side sills, a diffuser and a rear spoiler – in a particularly dramatic (by Volvo standards) ducktail shape on the S60, below. Polestar has worked with the World Touring Car Championship team Cyan Racing to help test and develop these aerodynamic parts.
Testing took place at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, during which an S60 sporting the new parts temporarily broke the record for the fastest lap by a road legal four-door car – a fact kept quiet by Volvo and then casually announced some months after the event.
The new Polestar models will feature diamond-cut black wheels, carbon fibre door mirrors, and a new metallic blue colour option.
They may go quicker, but they’ll also stop quicker, courtesy of upgraded Brembo brakes. Both models will run with the same 362bhp four-cylinder engine, capable of a 4.4-second 0-60mph launch time
