Morgan EV3 Three Wheeler unveiled
► World debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed
► Prototype for now, production in 2016

Morgan will show the EV3 electric Three Wheeler at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed later this month, as the electric revolution finally reaches Malvern.

The company is renowned for its old-worlde charm and reliance on traditional manufacturing techniques – but it’s now embracing the future too with the EV3.

Instead of the bike engine powering the rear wheel, Morgan has slotted in a 75kw electric motor. Usefully, it’s actually lighter than the petrol-powered version and Morgan claims an electric range of 150 miles.

The car to be shown at Goodwood is a prototype, but the company has confirmed it is ‘expected to go into production towards the end of 2016.’

It’s not the first electric Morgan; the company has been looking at introducting battery-powered cars for some time and has previously showcased the Plus E. See the EV3 at the Niche Vehicle Network stand at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
