► Latest 720S by MSO

► Black and gold… black and gold…
McLaren’s Special Operations department has been at it again. Not long after creating the MSO R twins, the brand from Woking has wheeled out a new bespoke creation, first revealed at the 2017 Dubai motor show.
The MSO Bespoke division started out with a 720S Performance and finished the bodywork in satin Zenith black. Splashes of gold are found on the massive alloys and on inserts in the dashboard, while a ‘1 of 1’ MSO plaque has been placed inside. More MSO details come in the shape of additional carbonfibre used on the front and rear splitters, plus satin gold gearshift paddles.
More pertinently, though, this one-off car has a 24-carat gold engine heatshield, harking back to the legendary F1, and a stencilled skyline of Dubai that took 30 hours to paint on the rear wing.
The car is inspired by one of Bruce McLaren’s famous quotes: ‘To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. It would be a waste of life to do nothing with one’s ability, for I feel that life is measured in achievement, not in years alone.’
Andreas Barels, MD of Middle East, Africa and Latin America, says that this 720S is a tribute to the brand’s clients and the shareholders that control the brand.
