Startech will fix your new Discovery’s offset number plate

Updated: 05 December 2017

► Startech mods the Discovery
► Hooray for symmetry?
► Available from Jan 2018 for €809

Does the new Land Rover Discovery’s offset number plate make your eye twitch? Is there a perfectionist bone in your body that’s just not okay with the wonky rear end?

If your answer is ‘yes’, German tuner Startech has come to the rescue. The tuner has designed an insert for the tailgate which squares off the lines of the rear end and centres the plate.

Startech released a short video on its website showing the difference before and after the tweak was fitted, with the website giving little detail away other than shouting about symmetry. Check out the video below…

And don’t worry, the kit still works with the reversing camera attached to the bootlid.

How much? In Germany, with a 19% VAT slapped on it, it’s €809 – roughly £712 at the time of writing. It’ll be available from January next year, so you’ll just have to wait a little while before satisfying any nagging doubt about your Disco’s rear end.
