Range Rover Sport RS (2014) – Land Rover’s preview video

Updated: 26 January 2015

The high-performance new Range Rover Sport RS, to be revealed at this week’s 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed, has been previewed by Land Rover in this new video above.

The teaser video shows the hot Range Rover Sport on test at the Nurburgring. It’s the first go-faster Land Rover to emerge from the new Special Operations division launched earlier in June 2014.

CAR understands that the new Range Rover Sport, loosely dubbed RS but likely to wear a new badge connected to the Special Ops outfit, will be powered by the group’s 5.0-litre V8 supercharged petrol engine.

It doesn’t take a huge leap of imagination to see the blown Jaguar XKR-S GT‘s lump powering the much heavier, taller RRS, pointing to a power output of 540bhp.

Regular Sport models handle well, but the Special Operations division will have their work cut out taming that much power in an upright SUV. Stay tuned for the proper launch of the high-performance RRS later this week.
