Updated: 26 January 2015

Sant’Agata has issued this solitary teaser photograph of the new Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo race car, as it undertakes its first shakedown testing.

The track Lambo took to the Piero Taruffi Vallelunga circuit in Italy for its latest run-out ahead of its race debut in 2015.

Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo: the lowdown

The Huracan Super Trofeo will be raced in all three Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Series in Europe, Asia and North America, where it will rub shoulders with older Gallardo racers.

The lucky soul with the job of fine-tuning the race-spec Huracan is chief test driver of Automobili Lamborghini’s research and development department, Giorgio Sanna.

‘The first shakedown is always a very special moment,’ he said. ‘I’ve followed the development phase step by step in Sant’Agata Bolognese, and we are all enthusiastic about this very important moment. The new Huracán Super Trofeo will ensure Lamborghini a key role in International motorsport.’

Where can I see the Lambo Huracan Super Trofeo?

Sadly, not until it enters the field in 2015.

But you can follow the 2014 Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series in Europe at the following events:

23-27 July Spa Francorchamps
19-21 September Nürburgring
20-21 November Sepang

The final event in Malaysia is the world final, where the winners of each regional race series come together for the global decider.

Watch manufacturer Blancpain has sponsored the Lamborghini race series for several years.
