► Based on the 812 GTS
► Front-mounted V12
► Roadster body and three-layer paintjob
Maranello has revealed a new one-off model, this time called the SP51. Built for a Taiwan-based client, the new roadster riffs off an 812 GTS chassis, and that means it also has a front-mounted V12 ahead of the cockpit.
Like Ferrari’s other one-off projects, the SP51 was created at the Flavio Manzoni-headed Ferrari Styling Centre – though Ferrari says the client also had input on the overall design. The result? A muscular looking roadster which Ferrari says has also been honed using CFD and other testing.
Alongside the bespoke bodywork, the SP51 wears a unique three-layer Rosso Passionale paintjob. It’s not all over the car though; pictures show bare carbonfibre throughout the interior, and there’s also a blue and white stripe that runs down the car. Maranello says it’s in homage to the 1955 410 S.
