Ferrari has unleashed another one-off car into the world – the P80/C track car – for a collector and connoisseur on all things Maranello.

The brief was to create something that was a blend of icons like the P3 and P4 mixed with the Dino 206 S, so the P80/C that resulted has a low wedge-like shape and flying buttresses at the rear. Much more contemporary design elements include significant ducting at the front, a double rear spoiler element and, of course, race-spec front and rear splitters.

It’s based on the 488 GT3 car, which also meant the designers could give the car a cab-forward shape due to the racer’s 50mm longer wheelbase than a 488 GTB. The owner requested a set of carbonfibre race-spec 18-inch wheels and an ‘exhibition package’ for when the car attends, er… exhibitions. The use of the GT3 underpinnings means the P80/C has a 3.9-litre V8 cranking out more than 660bhp.

The P80/C project started in 2015, and Ferrari says it’s had the longest gestation period of any of the brand’s one-off creations including the SP38 and SP3JC.
