Audi has announced a new special edition R8 Coupe that comes complete with the entire range of its Performance Parts pack fitted as standard.
Just five of these already-upgraded R8s are coming to the UK, priced at £176,560 a pop and they’re all finished in Misano Red.
What do you get for your money? Well, there’s a carbonfibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) body kit that includes front and rear sills, while dive planes on the front bumper are designed to be reminiscent of the first R8 GT car. CFRP side vents and special aero behind the rear wheelarches are said to improve airflow.
Audi says that the parts are ‘motorsport-proven’ and are designed to increase downforce and strip out some weight. At 93mph, Audi claims that the pronounced body kit equates to 52kg of increased downforce, and at 205mph the kit contributes 250kg of downforce.

On top of that, there’s a set of black, milled 20-inch alloys that save up to 8kg, reducing unsprung mass. Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres from Michelin are wrapped around them, too. Ceramic brakes are also standard, as are three-way coilover springs for easier adjustment. There’s an Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel inside with a red 12 o’clock marker, too.
The engine remains the same from the R8 V10 Plus, so there’s 602bhp and 413lb ft of sonorous shove available.
