Audi has announced prices for its revised 2012 R8 supercar range.
The cheapest way into R8 ownership remains the V8 Coupe, at £91,575, while the new flagship R8 V10 Plus will set you back a cool £127,575 if you opt for the pricier double-clutch gearbox version.
Why the premium for the Audi R8 Plus?
Ceramic brakes and bucket seats as standard go a way to explaining that – you also get more carbonfibre panels (the ‘sideblades’, front splitter and rear diffuser), optional matt paint and a slug of extra poke from the handbuilt 5.2-litre V10.
The Plus gets 543bhp versus the standard V10’s 518bhp, and is 0.1sec faster to 62mph as a result.
Further distinguishing the R8 Plus are the 19-inch Y-spoke alloys previously seen on the limited-edition R8 GT, and darkened grille and exhaust pipe detailing.
