Maximum attack: ABT reveals 730bhp RSQ8-R

Published: 14 August 2020

► ABT’s upgrades for the RSQ8
► More power and performance mods
► Just 125 to be allowed for upgrade

Another week, another ABT monster breaks cover. This time it’s the Audi RSQ8, Ingolstadt’s most angry SUV.

The ABT ‘Power S’ performance kit ups power from 592bhp and 590lb ft to 730bhp and 679lb ft via an engine remap and new intercooler for the twin turbochargers. A stainless steel sports exhaust system is available, too with bespoke tailpipes.

Visually, the biggest difference is the extensive use of gloss carbonfibre seen in the redesigned front and rear aprons, along with vents in the front wheelarches. The RSQ8-R also rolls on ABT ‘HR23’ 23-inch wheels.

Inside, more carbonfibre is chucked at the cockpit, with details like fresh seats, new door sills and steering wheel and a ‘1 of 125’ marker on the centre console also appearing.

Want one? ABT says it’ll only make the upgrade to 125 cars, and it’ll cost you €70,000 before the price of an RSQ8.
