Could it be Honda’s year in F1?

Another year, another letdown?

Last year, Button finished the second half of the F1 season strongly, scoring his maiden win in Hungary in spectacular style and scoring points aplenty. We were all expecting a great season from Button and Honda in 2007, but if the recent pre-season testing is anything to go by, Honda is well off the pace. Both Ferrari and McLaren are significantly ahead – and the dark horse of the testing sessions is BMW Sauber.

I’m going to put my neck on the line: I think Honda is sand-bagging, if the previous testing seasons of years gone by are anything to go by. Last year Honda were quick in the pre-season testing, yet when it came to the crunch, still weren’t on the pace as much as we thought.

This year will be different, I predict. When the cars line up in Melbourne on 18 March, I think it will be a Honda one-two, with McLaren biting at their heels.
